The Return of Marina B Jewelry

Marina B, the one-time internationally known luxury jewelry brand, has returned under the direction of Windsor Jewelers, a New York City estate jewelry firm.

An official re-launch of the brand was held February 11 at the new Manhattan Marina B showroom (589 Fifth Avenue) where the company’s new jewelry creations were unveiled. The new collection is largely based on the archived pieces and designs of Marina Bulgari, who founded the brand in the mid-1970s. During the 1980s and ’90s, the brand was worn by movie stars like Sophia Loren, and other women of international society and best-dressed lists.

Windsor Jewelers CEO Paul Lubetsky, a passionate fan of Marina B's designs, acquired a collection of Marina B pieces in order to prepare for the revitalization of the brand.

“This is the most exciting first step I've taken in a long time to re-launch a brand,” Lubetsky said. “The pieces that we've acquired are enduringly chic and contemporary and embody the Marina B look of elegance and distinction.”

Among his acquisitions were hundreds of original sketches from Marina B herself. “It didn't take me long to realize that I'd stumbled upon a treasure, something that's hard to come by in this day and age,” Lubetsky said.

The new Marian B pieces were manufactured in accordance with the brand’s original standards and produced by many of the original craftsmen, Lubetsky said. All of the jewelry is made with 18k gold, with many featuring precious gemstones and pavĂ© diamonds. Retail prices begin at $5,000 with one-of-a-kind pieces being more expensive.

Marina Bulgari, who lives in Monte Carlo, hails from one of the world's famous jewelry dynasties, Bulgari, and created jewelry for the firm until the mid-1970s. After the death of her father, she started Marina B, in Geneva.
