A Contest for the Ultimate Proposal Story

The Jewelry Information Center launched its second annual Ultimate Proposal Contest, the nationwide online competition that asks couples to submit their proposal stories at JIC's website for a chance to win travel and jewelry prizes.

To enter the contest, couples should go to www.JIC.org/proposalcontest and enter their special proposal stories and information about the rings that signify their romantic bond. Submissions are accepted through May 23. From May 31 - June 20, Americans will be able to vote for their favorite of the 10 finalists.

The couple who submits the winning story will receive platinum and diamond rings by MaeVona, courtesy of Platinum Guild International, and a seven-night cruise for two to the Caribbean on Norwegian Cruise Line, courtesy of CMC-Meridian. The 10 Finalists will each receive a freshwater cultured pearl necklace from Imperial.

“Last year's contest resulted in more than 1,200 story submissions that ranged from humorous to sentimental to adventurous,” said Amanda Gizzi, JIC spokesperson.

JIC is the consumer education arm of Jewelers of America, a national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry retail marketplace More than 170 jewelry retailers—all JA members—representing more than 1,000 storefronts that participating in the contest. They will encourage their customers to enter their stories.

Other contest sponsors are Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company and Onewed.com.
