JewelleryNetAsia Enters Turkish Jewelry Market

The global jewelry trade portal, JewelleryNetAsia, announced Tuesday its participation at the Istanbul Jewelry Show 2012, which will open its doors on March 22 at the CNR Exhibition Center.

At the stand of JewelleryNetAsia jewelry buyers can make use of the free-of-charge sourcing support as well as access the internet free of charge. As official media partner to the jewelry show, JewelleryNetAsia is providing the online exhibitor list, show photo galleries and product previews.

The Turkish jewelry market is one of the most dynamic globally, with Istanbul being one of its trade centers. Thousands out of the estimated 40,000 jewelry-related firms in Turkey are active also on international markets. The majority of the Turkish jewelry exports is gold jewelry, mostly to the Middle East, the USA and CIS countries.

More than 600 Turkish Jewelry Suppliers are represented at both the Istanbul Jewelry Show as well as in the online directories of JewelleryNetAsia. Many specialize in wholesale gold jewelry and wholesale diamond jewelry but there is also a large amount of technology vendors and suppliers of findings and mountings.

‘It is not only the Turkish market that attracts us, but also the fact that the whole region congregates here for business. Also the region is not yet very sophisticated when it comes to using the internet for sales and sourcing, so this is a perfect timing for fast growth’ said Jerome Hainz of JewelleryNetAsia.

Free Digital 2012 Jewelry Exhibition Calendar

JewelleryNetAsia has launched a downloadable, digital Jewelry Exhibition Calendar listing major jewelry events to be staged in 2012.

The calendar has details of more than 240 international jewelry exhibitions, conferences and pearl auctions around the globe. It is free of charge from the trade-show information pages of JewelleryNetAsia, the global jewelry trade portal:

Once downloaded and opened, the jewelry-show calendar is automatically displayed in Microsoft Outlook. It can also be displayed in Google and Yahoo calendars.

The Outlook jewelry calendar can also be synchronized to mobile devices, enabling busy professionals—whether trade jewelry buyers, wholesale suppliers or manufacturers—to access important dates quickly and conveniently.

“We thought it would be great to have all shows in one digital file, available anytime on our desktop and mobile devices,” said Jerome Hainz, JewelleryNetAsia manager. “Over 50 percent of our users own a smart phone and are typically traveling a lot to trade shows. With the digital event calendar we provide them with a very smart tool for quick reference.”

Jewelry News Network Turns 1

It’s hard to believe but my little blog that could is a year old today. It began with the idea that there was a need for a place online to bring consumers who are passionate about jewelry with jewelry, fashion and luxury professionals with stories that appeal to both groups.

The year has gone surprisingly well. Readership on the blog has grown at an average of 37 percent per month. I started a Twitter page that has grown as constantly and steady as the blog along with a facebook fan page. And, because of this blog, I’ve been able to reach larger audiences through Forbes.com, JewelleryNetAsia and Farlang.

This first year was an experiment to see if this type of format would have appeal. The answer is a resounding yes. There will be a number of changes for the second year. Among them is the Jewelry News Network will now be accepting advertising. In addition, there will be a newsletter for the blog.

Further down the road there are plans to expand the website and to increase our international coverage by building a team of correspondents in key jewelry markets around the world. The Jewelry News Network will be a network between the jewelry industry and passionate consumers and network within the global jewelry industry.

So thank you for taking the time to read this blog and I look forward to making this publication bigger and better in the upcoming year. As always, please contact me with any concerns, ideas or advice.
