Stars Glitter In Harry Winston Jewels At amfAR Benefit

Charlize Theron, Lea Michele, Victoria Justice, Angela Lindvall and Erica Pelosini were among the stars adorned in Harry Winston jewels at the amfAR Inspiration Gala, held Thursday at Milk Studios in Los Angeles.

Luxury jewelry and watch brand, Harry Winston, is in the second year of a three-year international partnership with amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, and served as the presenting sponsor of the star-studded Hollywood event, which benefits the foundation’s AIDS research programs.

The event honored Jeffrey Katzenberg and Theron for their outstanding contributions in the fight against AIDS. Each was presented with the limited-edition Harry Winston Countdown to a Cure timepiece. Limited to 20 men and 20 women pieces, it is sold exclusively through Harry Winston boutiques. Twenty percent of sales go toward amfAR's efforts to develop the scientific basis of a cure for HIV by 2020.

Part of Harry Winston’s timeless Midnight Collection, the men’s version of the automatic watch features a 42mm white gold case with a navy blue dial accented with a multicolor gradient, representing amfAR’s Countdown to a Cure campaign colors that symbolize the fade of the disease from crisis to cure. The women’s 32mm model is set with 12 brilliant-cut diamonds and 19 vivid gemstones, from rubies and sapphires to spessartite garnets.

Other stars attending the event included Heidi Klum, Dita Von Teese, Jane Lynch, Cheyenne Jackson and Jon Hamm. 

Theron accepted her award wearing Harry Winston chandelier earrings with 32.57 carats of diamonds set in platinum and the Secret Cluster ring with 6.6 carats set in platinum.

Michele was decked out in 180 carats worth of Harry Winston diamond and platinum jewels, including the Combination Diamond Necklace and Bracelet (88.34 carats and 68.57 carats, respectively), Emerald-Cut Diamond Earstuds (3.15 carats), Cushion-Cut Micropave Diamond Ring, (4.98 carats), Radiant-Cut Diamond Rock Band (8.3 carats) and Oval Diamond Rock Band (6.47 carats).

Pelosini wore 60 carats of Harry Winston jewels, including the 44.34-carat Marquesa Diamond Cluster Necklace matched with the Tulp diamond bracelet (12.86 carats), Straight Line Diamond Bracelet, (2.54 carats), Crossover Diamond Ring (1.63 carats) and Micropave Diamond Dome Band (1.09 carats)

The amfAR Inspiration series was launched in 2010 to celebrate men’s fashion and style while raising funds for amfAR’s lifesaving AIDS research programs. Since its inception, Inspiration galas have been held in New York, Los Angeles, Paris, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Toronto, and Miami. To date, Inspiration events have raised more than $26 million for amfAR.

Harry Winston Launches Timepiece To Support amfAR

Harry Winston on Tuesday launched a limited-edition timepiece designed to bring attention to and help fund the mission of amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research.

The "Countdown to a Cure Timepiece" for men and women also marks Harry Winston’s second year of partnership with amfAR. As the name suggests, the watch is designed exclusively for amfAR’s “Countdown to a Cure” campaign. It’s the first official product to benefit amfAR’s efforts to develop the scientific basis of a cure for HIV by 2020. 

A total of 20 percent of the retail sale price will go toward amfAR and its Countdown to a Cure initiative.

As part of Harry Winston’s timeless Midnight Collection, the men’s version of the watch features a 42mm white gold case with a navy blue dial accented with a multicolor gradient, representing amfAR’s Countdown to a Cure campaign colors that symbolizes the fade of the disease from crisis to cure. The men’s model retails for $21,200 and the women’s for $16,200. Each timepiece is limited to 20 pieces and they are available at Harry Winston salons worldwide. 

Harry Winston is in its second year of a three-year partnership with amfAR, in support of the organization’s mission to end the global AIDS epidemic through innovative research, and its “Countdown to a Cure” initiative, which is aimed at developing the scientific basis for a cure by 2020. Launched in February 2014, it’s designed to intensify amfAR’s cure-focused HIV research program through strategic investments of $100 million over the next five years.

Harry Winston Jewels Sparkle at amfAR New York Gala

The amfAR New York Gala held Wednesday was the first opportunity for the nonprofit organization to showcase its partnership with Harry Winston.

Rosario Dawson, an honoree at the amfAR New York gala wore Winston Diamond Chandelier Earrings, 29.59 carats, set in platinum; Mrs. Winston Diamond Bracelet, 45.05 carats, set in platinum; and Radiant Cut Yellow Diamond Ring, 18.65 carats, set in 18K yellow gold and platinum. 

The luxury jewelry and watch brand became the first company to serve as the presenting sponsor for the organization’s 27 gala events taking place across the globe over the next three years. These events are used to raise more than half of amfAR’s general operating support, enabling the organization to invest wisely in pioneering AIDS research and programs.

The partnership kicked off with Wednesday’s New York gala held at Cipriani Wall Street. The black-tie event serves as the official kick-off to New York Fashion Week and honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to raise awareness about the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

The organization, amfAR, (american foundation for AIDS Research) is dedicated to the support of AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education, and the advocacy of AIDS-related public policy. Not including Wednesday’s event, the nonprofit organization said the annual gala has raised more than $15 million that goes to support AIDS research.

Several women in attendance at the gala were adorned with Harry Winston diamond jewelry. In addition, Harry Winston auctioned off a pair of Sunflower Cascading Diamond Earrings, modeled by Heidi Klum, and presented to each of the event’s honorees—Harry Belafonte, Rosario Dawson and Patrick Demarchelier—with a Harry Winston Midnight timepiece.

Harry Winston’s support of amfAR continues beyond the event. It has become a leading supporter of amfAR’s Countdown to a Cure initiative, aimed at developing the scientific basis for a cure for HIV/AIDS by 2020. Harry Winston’s support also will enable amfAR to enter new markets, beginning with the organization’s first fundraising event in Hong Kong in March, 2015.

Since 1985, amfAR has invested close to $400 million in its programs and has awarded more than 3,300 grants to research teams worldwide.
